This last week has been crazy busy, finishing our ‘Around the World in 80 Days‘ summer with the anticipated trip around London. Dotted in between, we have met up with special friends, had sleep overs, a big shop for school supplies and of course a day trip out at the beach for Gary’s birthday. Next week we start back at school, after celebrating A7’s eighth birthday with an Around the World birthday party. I’ve focused all the photos on our day out at the beach…….
Gary’s day began with my phone alarm waking him up at 630 am. I had inadvertently left my phone under his pillow! So the poor man, who has to get up 6 days a week at 430am, was woken up on his one day off, and his birthday to boot, at 630 by his wife’s alarm! And his wife? Well, she slept through it all! Ooops 🙁
He did go straight back to sleep though and had a nice lie-in. We took hand made cards and breakfast in bed once he was awake (for the second time, not at 630!):
We were all still full up from the day in London, so a bacon sarnie sufficed, rather than a full Ulster fry. Shortly after he ordered his birthday present, which was a year’s membership to the Green Keepers’ Association. The older ones had all put money towards it, whilst the younger ones had emptied their purses of pennies 🙂
We left for the beach around eleven and got there just in time to go to our favourite restaurant for lunch:
We have so much fun together and spent most of the meal in fits of giggles:
There were moments of embarrassing the teens (gotta love having teens!):
Seven year old cuteness:
And as usual there was constant teasing between everyone:
Ragging their father over his ‘forgetfulness’, which was ‘obviously’ age related!
and of course teasing their brother….the twins’ favourite past time:
After which, Lillie began begging Thomas for a lend of his skate board:
but they had just finished laughing at his expense, so he wasn’t playing ball:
Revenge is sweet….
I just love how much fun we all have together.
After lunch we went for a walk along the promenade:
Thomas brought his skate board which A7 had fun pulling him on:
Lillie continued to badger Thomas for a quick go. He continued to ignore her efforts 🙂
But finally allowed her a turn. Phew!
We settled down on the beach to enjoy the sound of the waves and the heat of the sun:
My cute bundle of gorgeousness:
Thomas did lots of skateboarding:
And finishing the day with an ice cream and a wander back to the car:
Sorry, far too many photos, but such lovely memories, I couldn’t resist. Happy, happy sigh.
