Another great week has come and gone. The three older children are preparing to take their exams, Thomas (Chemistry IGCSE) in May and the girls (English Language IGCSE) in June. All three are going through past papers and are using SAM Learning for revision purposes. The rest of our school work is taking a bit of a back seat.
For relaxation (and because she might be ever so slightly obsessed) Lillie has been making every kind of slime under the sun:
She’s made a multi-coloured one for a friend for her birthday:
And even makes them in her pajamas at night-time:
Her sister is less than impressed (and just a little bit bored of hearing all about the latest slime creation. ‘One slime is much like another’)
Charlotte has been providing some excellent photo opportunities by allowing the little ones to put make up on her:

I think as a look, it might catch on……
Lillie has been working hard on her art, and will hopefully finish Lesson three next week. It has been all about charcoal and she has had so much fun! Her main project for her Level Two Art and Design is to explore the twinship between her and Charlotte. We had our first photo session, to capture a photo of the two of them that Lillie could use as part of a ‘continuous drawing’ picture (she draws the whole picture without lifting her pencil of the paper):
A lovely photo but she found the continuous drawing very difficult (picture to come when I post about her third art lesson)
The little ones have started their review of ArtAchieve, an art course which is perfect for their age group:
And Oscar who had a nasty shock last week? Well having been on anti-inflammatories for a week, he is pretty much back to normal now, thank God:
It has been a busy week activities wise with Thomas helping out with sound in a production of Raggedy Doll (which A8 was thrilled to be asked to play a small part in); a Mother’s Day choir performance (all five children are in the choir for this performance which is this Sunday); another play entitled Sherbet Pips, which three of the guys are acting and/or singing in and Thomas is helping with sound….phew, busy, busy!
Also on the blog this week I reviewed a fabulous art curriculum (Creating a Masterpiece) and an excellent book (Bessie’s Pillow). I also posted on our work with Florence Nightingale and the Crimean War, and yesterday I asked if anyone had any questions about allowing your teenagers complete freedom in their school choices. I’ve been asked lots of really interesting questions so far, but if you have any to add just leave a comment or email me to the address given in the post.
